absentee voter registration and property insurance...
Whew, I just mailed out my absentee voter registration. I had put it off for around 3 months, but it turned out to be very easy. I just printed a form from the FVAP (federal voting assistance program) website and mailed it to the Washtenaw county clerk office. I decided against purchasing property insurance for my time in Peru, because I thought it was too much of a hassle. The Peace Corps recommended insurance company calculated my annual premium to be $84 and I thought that was a little high considering that I only claimed $600 worth of stuff. Instead I will just let myself not worry about loosing or breaking anything, because it is all totally replaceable. It would stink to have to figure out how to replace some things from Peru, but I'm sure I could have things shipped for a price (a big one!).
